MSM AB is Northern Europe’s largest truck mixer body builder. MSM is centrally located in southern Sweden, just outside the city of Jonkoping, half-way between Stockholm and Copenhagen.
When seeing the hazards involved and the back-breaking work required for ready-mix deliveries, MSM decided to develop a hydraulically powered telescopic chute for installation onto its truck mixers. Over the past 20 years, this remote-controlled device has changed how concrete is delivered and placed, not only in Sweden, but also in surrounding markets, including Finland and Norway.
Thousands of REACH9 telescopic chutes are in daily use and MSM has made concrete deliveries less physical and much safer. MSM’s device has also contributed to making the ready-mix driver profession more attractive and has opened the profession to a wider range of CDL drivers, including women.
REACH9 eliminates the risk of hand and finger injuries from handling extension chutes.
REACH9 prevents injuries from lifting heavy chute extensions on a frequent basis.
REACH9 reduces skin burns from contact with Portland cement.
REACH9 lowers the risk of work zone struck-by injuries from truck movements and run-away short chutes.
With an objective to bring the benefits of REACH9 to the World-wide concrete market, MSM’s telescopic chute was introduced at World-of Concrete in USA under the name EZEXTENZ in 2015. The product was awarded Editor’s Choice for Most Innovate Product by Concrete Construction Magazine in the same year. EZEXTENZ returned to World of Concrete in 2016.
The product changed name to REACH9 in late 2016.
MSM continuous to pursue its export markets, building relationships with truck mixer manufacturers and other players in the concrete industry. A growing number of truck mixers has been equipped with REACH9 chutes. Outside of Europe, the product is in daily use on the North American continent.
